I’d seen a press clipping about the special bond that the Murray State Racers men’s basketball team had with the surrounding community and thought this could be a fascinating story to explore for the Responsibility Project — particularly as it involved the tremendous responsibility the players felt to Murray, KY.

The resulting documentary short, “The Home Team,” went on to be shown in competition at SXSW Film, the Dallas Film Festival, AFI Docs Festival and Sarasota Film Festival, and also won a Gold Hatch Award for Online Video: Single.
